Hey Guys! Cordelia here!
I have been getting a ton of phone calls about people either not being able to see their refund date....or getting some weird message when they check the "Where's My Refund"tool. What kind of message are people seeing you wonder? Well, it looks like this....
THIS IS THE MESSAGE SOME PEOPLE ARE SEEING!
Refund Status Results
According to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, the IRS cannot issue refunds before mid-February for tax returns that claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit. This applies to the entire refund, even the portion not associated with these credits.Check Where's My Refund in mid- to late February for your personalized refund status. It's updated once a d
ay and remains the best way to check the status of your refund.

WHAT THE HECK DOES THIS MEAN?????
Well I spoke to some of my Friends at the IRS and what it basically boils down to is that sometime after February 15th (and honestly usually we see it on February 15th) the IRS will begin to update the Where's My Refund tool with dates for people that fall into this category. Pretty much anyone with large refunds that include the Earned Income Credit and the Refundable Child Tax Credit falls into this category.
This is not a guarantee but we expect to see the first set of these refunds around February 22nd to the 26th.
